PASSPORT:

As of 25.05.2017, the validity of your passport of at least 6 months is no longer required at the time of entry into the country. It is sufficient that the deadline is later than the date of the return journey. Mail: paris@amb-maurice.fr). We must be in possession of a valid hotel booking, confirmed return ticket, and you need to have sufficient means to cover the expense of your stay. When arriving in Mauritius, Italian travelers intending to benefit from the new entry regime in the country, must fill in the arrival form provided by the Immigration Office at the airport, indicating the days and place of stay on the island . Immigration office, after having read the above form, will issue the pass stamp, granting them a residence permit (Landing Permit) valid for the entire duration of their stay in Mauritius. Any inappropriate comment or ironic observation on airport security controls and procedures may be considered by the Authorities as a threat to security, and sanctioned by law.

VISA: Not required for tourist or business trips up to 90 days of stay in the country. However, you must be in possession of the return ticket.

VALIDITY FORMALITIES: The limit on import of foreign currency is 12.000 Euros. It is forbidden in the country to introduce food, plants and seeds and equipment for underwater fishing. For the import of certain types of medicines such as hypnotics, morphine, strong tranquillizers or painkillers, an authorization of the accredited Mauritian diplomatic / consular authorities in Italy is required.
ATMs are available in residential centers and malls; Visa cards are generally accepted by Hotels and Businesses.

Pets (dogs and cats): They must be accompanied by an import permit to be reauired by the Ministry of Agriculture and a certificate issued by a veterinarian in the country of origin. Quarantine ranges from 5 days to a month.
